Free Teleseminar — August 19
The role of the couple relationship in recovery from sexual addiction
For sexual strugglers who are married, one of the most important aspects of recovery is their relationship with their spouse. It also happens to be one of the most complicated aspects of recovery. Sex addiction strikes at the heart of the marriage relationship, and people usually come into recovery on the heels of a crisis where the addict’s behaviors have been revealed.
This teleseminar will help sort through the noise and confusion that often distracts people in early recovery. One important operating principle that will undergird this teleseminar is the need to distinguish a person’s recovery from sex addiction, and the restoration of their marriage. Many people confuse these issues, and find themselves either discouraged about their recovery if their marriage isn’t going well, or lacking motivation to do the important (and difficult) work of their own individual recovery if their marriage is going well.
What you will learn on this teleseminar:
- Why most people who say they view sex as an addiction really don’t
- Why sex addiction is a recovery issue, not a marriage issue
- What spouses can do that helps or hinders the addict
- What to do for your recovery if your spouse isn’t supportive
- How you can build your marriage in the process of growing in your recovery
This is a free teleseminar, and it’s open to addicts, their spouses, and friends. I believe it will benefit everyone who participates.
